How to Install Mods
Choose your platform below for step-by-step instructions.
The easiest way if you own Paralives on Steam.
- Open Steam and go to the Paralives store page.
- Click Workshop in the navigation bar.
- Find the mod you want and click Subscribe.
- Steam will download the mod automatically.
- Launch Paralives — mods are active by default.
Note: Not all mods on Paralives Vault are on the Steam Workshop. For mods that say "Mirrored from…" or have a direct download, follow the manual install steps below.
For manual installs on Windows (Epic, key sellers, or standalone purchases).
- Download the mod file from Paralives Vault (it will be a
.zipor a mod-specific format). - Open File Explorer and navigate to:
%AppData%\Paralives\Mods - If the
Modsfolder doesn't exist, create it. - Extract the downloaded file and copy the mod folder or files into the
Modsdirectory. - Launch Paralives — the mod will appear in the in-game mod manager.
Tip: Some mods have dependencies. Check the mod page for a "Required mods" section and install those first.
For manual installs on macOS.
- Download the mod file from Paralives Vault.
- Open Finder, click Go → Go to Folder and paste:
~/Library/Application Support/Paralives/Mods - Create the
Modsfolder if it doesn't exist. - Extract the mod archive and drag the contents into the
Modsfolder. - Launch Paralives — your mod will be active.
For manual installs on Linux (native or via Proton/Steam).
- Download the mod file from Paralives Vault.
- Native: The mods folder is typically at:
~/.config/Paralives/Mods - Steam/Proton: Navigate to your Steam library path and find the Paralives compatdata folder:
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/[AppID]/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Paralives/Mods - Create the
Modsfolder if missing, then copy your mod files there. - Launch Paralives to confirm the mod loads.
Note: The exact path may vary by Paralives version and Linux distribution. Check the official Paralives site for the latest documentation.
